about me

My name is Vincent Battani!
I graduated from Roseville High School in Michigan in 2004, as class valedictorian. I attended college for 6 years achieving at a high level at both Michigan State University and Wayne State University. My major areas of concentration have been mathematics, social studies, economics and of course secondary education. I graduated from Wayne State University on May 6, 2010 Magna Cum Laude, and I  received my provisional certification for grades 6-12 in Mathematics (EX) and Social Studies (RX) on May 25, 2010.

During my college years
I looked to get as much experience in education as possible. I took every opportunity to tutor students on a one-on-one basis in the classroom, and outside of school. I obtained a job at Roseville Community Schools as a Math Instructional Aide. I get to spend a lot of one-on-one time with students, as well as small group instruction when I take on this role in the classroom. I occasionally have the opportunity to lead instruction in this role. I take on the role of the teacher and have been entrusted by teachers to run the classroom in their absence.

I also had the opportunity
to co-teach a middle school summer math camp; which was put in place to increase MEAP scores for the following year. To stay well rounded with my teaching major and minor I was able to do a split student teaching schedule where I obtained experience in both my core areas. This summer I will be running a classroom for L’Anse Creuse Public Schools, and instructing Algebra 2A and Algebra 2B.

Personally I am interested in
music, art, food, and technology. I have a passion for discovering and using new technologies in all aspects of my life. I am an avid follower of pop culture in all areas of entertainment. I belong to a few professional organizations such as National Council for Teachers of Mathematics, and the National Council for Social Studies teachers. I have been in the classroom for the past two years taking on many different roles; an observer, a student teacher, and an instructional aide. I have experience all different grade levels from 7th to 12th grade, as well as a variety of different cultures and ability levels.

Why I became an educator
There are several reasons that I wanted to become an educator. One reason is that I have always had a passion for knowledge, and schooling has always been important to me and I want to pass that on to future generations. Teaching is more than just a profession to me; it means a lot to me personally, I think that it is one of the most important professions in society.

I wish to become an educator, because I know that I can make a lasting impact on the lives of students, and help to build a better future for everyone by pushing these kids to reach their maximum potential. Finally, there is nothing else I can picture myself doing than being in the classroom everyday and building relationships with and experiencing with the adults of tomorrow.
